Beginning Conversational Chinese Class At Washtenaw Community College!

Hello!  (Nǐ hǎo! 你好!)  I’m offering a beginning Chinese class at Washtenaw Community College, starting Tuesday, September 28.  I hope to see you there!  We’ll have lots of fun learning basic conversations.  For example, we’ll jump right into the all-important, “Hi! My name is _______, I’m from _______.”  We’ll also explore Chinese culture, including tasting delicious moon cakes in honor of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

To find out more about my class, just have a look at the brief description below.

Not sure whether the class on September 28 is right for you?  Need to know how to register?  No problem! (Méi wèn-tí! 没问题!)  Just email me at kimfu@umich.edu, or call me at 734-669-0188.  I’ll be glad to answer your questions.

Hope to see you in class! (Qī-dài gēn nǐ jiàn-miàn! 期待跟你见面!)

Chinese Conversation 1

8 Tuesday nights
From September 28 to November 16
7:00 to 9:00pm

Nǐ hǎo (你好! Hello!)  In this class, you'll take your first steps toward learning the language spoken by 1/5th of the world's population.  You'll discover how to greet people, give simple information about yourself, say numbers up to 100, and order in a restaurant.  You'll reinforce these newfound skills through lively, in-class conversations.  You’ll get a taste of the Chinese culture, too.  At semester's end, you and your classmates will celebrate your learning by ordering a complete meal at a delectable Chinese banquet.  And you’ll order in Chinese, of course!

See you in class!

Just contact me at kimfu@umich.edu.  I'll add you to the group.  And welcome! (Huān-yíng 欢迎!)
