Zhù-yì! Zhù-yì! Chinese Conversation 3 Soon To Start At Washtenaw Community College!

Hello everyone! (Dà-jiā hǎo! 大家好!)  My students and I are having a great time in Chinese Conversation 2 at Washtenaw Community College.  We’re also looking forward to starting Chinese Conversation 3.  Come and join us on June 7!

In Chinese Conversation 3, we’ll continue to look at basic phrases, including days of the week, months of the year, and "When's your birthday?"  We'll also learn how to introduce friends and family, so bring your photo album!  Working with simple Chinese characters will be another fun activity.

Zhè shì wǒ péng-you 这是我朋友! (This is my friend!)  Now your Chinese journey will take you to days of the week, months of the year, and dates. You'll learn to make introductions, too, and talk about your family and friends. You'll also continue working with shopping and money. Do you like Chinese characters?  Great!  (Tài hǎo le! 太好了!)  They'll be on the agenda as well.  And don't forget the delicious end-of-semester feast. You'll be in charge of telling the waiter what goes on the table -- in Chinese (Zhōng-wén 中文), of course!

Zhù-yì! Zhù-yì! Chinese Conversation 2 Soon To Start At Washtenaw Community College!

Hello everyone! (Dà-jiā hǎo! 大家好!)  My students and I are having a great time in Chinese Conversation 1 at Washtenaw Community College.  We’re also looking forward to starting Chinese Conversation 2.  Come and join us on April 12!

In Chinese Conversation 2, we’ll continue to learn basic survival phrases, including everyone’s favorite, “Where’s the bathroom?” We’ll explore money and shopping, too, and we’ll learn how to read and write around 10 Chinese characters.

Duō-shǎo qián? 多少钱? (How much is it?)  In this class, you'll continue your discovery of Chinese by delving into the world of money, shopping, and bargaining.  You'll also expand your ability to converse outside the marketplace.  For example, you’ll learn to ask, "How do you say this?" "What does this mean?" and -- most important --  Where’s the bathroom?  Plus, you'll take your language experience to a whole new level by exploring Chinese characters, including the ones in your Chinese name.

3 FUN CHINESE CLASSES AT WASHTENAW COMMUNITY COLLEGE ARE RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!

Nǐ hǎo! 你好! (Hello!)  In this class, you'll take your first steps toward learning the language spoken by 1/5th of the world's population.  You'll discover how to greet people, give simple information about yourself, say numbers up to 100, and order in a restaurant.  You'll reinforce these newfound skills through lively, in-class games and conversations.  At semester's end, you and your classmates will celebrate your learning by ordering a complete meal at a delectable Chinese banquet.  And you’ll order in Chinese, of course!

Beginning Conversational Chinese Class At Washtenaw Community College!

Hello!  (Nǐ hǎo! 你好!)  I’m offering a beginning Chinese class at Washtenaw Community College, starting Tuesday, September 28.  I hope to see you there!  We’ll have lots of fun learning basic conversations.  For example, we’ll jump right into the all-important, “Hi! My name is _______, I’m from _______.”  We’ll also explore Chinese culture, including tasting delicious moon cakes in honor of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
